TThe Centre for Peacebuilding and Transformative Leadership (CPTL) ensures that peace initiatives are not only well-intentioned but intellectually grounded and practically operational. We transition Zambia from "negative peace" to "positive peace" by providing the research and advocacy necessary for a just and inclusive society.
The Observatory is our primary engine for thought leadership. It serves as a dedicated space for rigorous inquiry into the emerging pressures testing Zambia’s cohesion, including political polarization and climate-induced competition.
We analyze Zambia’s peace history to inform diplomacy, integrate peacebuilding into climate adaptation, and research inclusive participation to expand strategic leadership roles for women and youth in formal peace processes.
Bridging evidence and policy, we publish data-driven recommendations, convene high-level strategic dialogues, and advocate for integrating peacebuilding principles into national development frameworks and climate adaptation strategies to ensure resilience.
CPTL is currently preparing for the 2026 Conference on Zambian Peace Diplomacy Since Independence. This landmark event will anchor the national peace narrative in evidence and convene strategic thinkers to shape the next chapter of Zambia's role as an active architect of dialogue in Africa.
CPTL’s Research Observatory provides evidence-based policy briefs and strategic dialogues to anchor Zambia’s peace narrative in reflection.
Our methodology blends rigorous research with policy advocacy to ensure peacebuilding is intellectually grounded. We transform data into actionable frameworks that integrate social cohesion into national development and climate adaptation strategies.
