Learn About Us

The Centre for Peacebuilding and Transformative Leadership

The Centre for Peacebuilding and Transformative Leadership (CPTL) is an independent, non-partisan institution dedicated to advancing peace through structured dialogue and transformative leadership.

As Zambia and the wider region confront evolving political, social, and climate-related pressures, CPTL seeks to contribute long-term systems that strengthen dialogue, mediation capacity, inclusive participation, and evidence-based policy engagement.

About us

Our Identity, Mandate & Founding Philosophy

Our Unified Identity & Mandate

CPTL is being established as a Zambian institution with continental relevance. Our mandate is to contribute to sustainable peace by promoting structured dialogue, professional mediation practice, inclusive leadership development, and research-informed policy engagement.

We operate on three convictions:

1. Peace requires transformation — not just absence of conflict but systems that enable justice, participation, and cohesion.

2. Leadership is the gateway — peace can only be sustained through values-based, ethical, and inclusive leadership.

3. Dialogue is the method — societies heal and progress when differences are managed through structured, principled dialogue.

Core values

Deliberation- structured, thoughtful, and respectful dialogue as the foundation of governance
